The event took place on May 19, 2026, at the National Library of Belarus.

Natalya Petkevich noted that the creative unions of Belarus and government bodies share the same goals.

“First of all, it is the development of national culture. This is a huge range of issues. We must develop culture, preserve and increase our heritage together,” said the Deputy Prime Minister. “But the most important thing is to focus on the one truly essential thing — national culture. I would suggest combining our efforts — approaching the development of our national treasure and various forms of art from different sides, and working together for the good of our country and our people.”

Natalya Petkevich suggested that experts discuss what needs to be done so that young talents can develop and create in our country.

“I want to hear what needs to be done to create the right environment and atmosphere that makes people want to create. Of course, the material side is important, but money alone will not produce talent. So, there must also be a combination of other conditions. Let’s talk about what we can all together contribute to the development of national culture,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

“I really wish it were impossible to buy a ticket to the philharmonic because our performers are playing there. I want theaters to stage hit productions. I very much want our pianists, violinists, and other musicians to give concerts in their homeland. I want to go to exhibitions of our artists and see more of them. I want Belarusian poets and writers to be published and in demand. Because Belarus has exceptionally talented people. We have enormous potential,” said Natalya Petkevich.

Minister of Culture Marat Markov in turn urged meeting participants to be extremely frank and to voice existing problems as well.

Representatives of creative unions spoke about what they are doing to develop national culture, and also identified growth points and directions for expanding cooperation. Natalya Petkevich noted the importance of the meeting and the exchange of views, and expressed readiness to continue the dialogue for the development of the cultural sphere.
